SKY Challenger-C30/V is a multiprocessing DSP board, based on theTMS320C30 (C30) DSP microprocessor from Texas Instruments thatincorporates two complete C30 processing nodes per board. Typical DSPapplications include signal processing, radar, sonar, communications,geophysics, industrial testing, acoustics, digital filtering, realtimecontrol, and instrumentation. With up to 66 MFLOPS or 32 MIPSperformance, Challenger-C30/V is an ideal, cost-effective alternative forhigh-end DSP solutions for VMEbus systems.Each Challenger-C30/V has two nodes with 33 MHz TI C30 processors, 256 KBof node SRAM, and 32 KB of private SRAM. Both nodes share 2 MB, 4 MB, or8 MB of onboard global DRAM. The two DSP nodes communicate through ahigh-speed internal bus or serial link, while a second serial linkprovides for communication between each Challenger-C30/V board orexternal I/O. Each board has two parallel ports with local buscapability, achieving nearly twice the data throughput performance ofcompetitive DSP boards, as its dual TI C30 chips perform full 32-bit datatransfers.
